MQ was a shortcut for hands on research and demos. I remember being on the dashboard vetting team. 6 months of work and Tableau got the nod! :). DataRobot had an easier time because there were fewer options for autoML.
What were the alternatives?
Dashboards. PowerBI, Click, Alteryx, ClearStory. AutoML beauty contest was SAS, Bindu Reddy had a startup whose name I forget, learn python.
Was this in 2016? In the BI MQ that year Power BI, Qlik, and Tableau were Leaders, AYX and ClearStory Visionaries.
